Peyton is a Ph.D. student in the Biochemistry, Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology (BMCDB) Graduate Group and joined the Zhang lab in May 2026. She graduated from the University of Portland in 2023, where she studied the effects of alcohol exposure on early heart development. After graduation, she spent two years at UCSF in Julie Sneddon’s lab, working on pancreatic development and regenerative therapies for Type 1 Diabetes. In the Zhang lab, she is excited to explore the intricacies of human uterine regeneration. Outside the lab, she enjoys hiking, knitting, and trying new crafts.
